If you have the Windows INSTALL disks, that is what you have to do.
If your computer did not COME with one, you are DOOMED. Some HP computers and now DELL computers, make you buy the restore or reinstall disk separately.
In one last ditch effort, you might be able to run in SAFE mode, and run your Anti-virus software. That probably won't work.
Anther thing that you might try, MOVE your hard drive into another computer as the SLAVE drive. Then scan that completely with it's Anti-virus software. Then scan it again, using Ad-aware from that computer. You see, as a slave drive, the virus might not be active. (a big MIGHT).
Good luck.

I don't know how to do that but even if you restart your computer back to day 1 you won't be able to remove the virus.. I had a virus like that and I tried to get rid of it using Norton anti virus but it couldn't remove it and I had to format my PC and now it's fine so I think that you should reformat your hard disk

Before all that you should definately look for the disc that came with the computer with the operating system or an emergency reinstall. It usually has the serial number sticker on it.
You should have that handy before you go crazy formatting the thing.

If you have xp this works.
When you first turn your computer and it is starting up tap f10 several times. It should take you to the screan to restore your whole system back to day 1. A tech showed me this and I used is many times on my desktop. It worked great. Just make sure you have everything you want saved somewhere else.

Formatting is the only way, then you have to reload everything, so if you haven't got original disks or backups then you will lose them - Sorry and good luck.
P.S. I thought that if you take backups now, then potentially you are also backing up the virus, and when you eventually reload them, you will be putting it back. I suppose it depends upon how the virus populates itself.

Try downloading this to remove it. It is a small program that is aimed at the Brave Sentry spyware program.
I also provided a link to specific instructions on how to manually remove it in safe mode.

Yeah, just reinstall the OS. It's really easy.
1) back up everything
2) get all of your software you intend to install together
3) put the OS CD in
4) reboot
5) follow instructions
6) do a windows update immediately
7) reinstall all software

Mr. Sashko is right...Re-Install your Operating System.
the only way to start from scratch...if you don't know how to do it, get some help. Make sure you have all your discs for re-installing any software (printers, digital camera, I-Pod, etc.) for items you might want to use.
Good Luck-it sucks I have had to do it twice..what a hassle!

The only way to TRULY start over is to completely reinstall the operating system...but you will lose ALL FILES, so backup first if you can.
