He's a great announcer/commentator.... but would he be successful as a politician?

I think it's absolutely the best idea he's ever had. More power to him. I think for once, an uncorrupt person might actually be entering politics for the right reasons!

That round mound of rebound might bring a breath of fresh air to politics.
1. You'd know EXACTLY where he stands on any issue.
2. After the first spinmeister mouths off at him, Barkley would throw an elbow and end the discussion.
3. It worked for "The Governator" and Jesse "The Mind" Ventura, so why not Sir Charles.

Probably not. Actually, we Alabamians screwed up and voted for a really good governor. I voted against Bob Riley and have been stunned at how good a job he's done.
So, now that we actually have a competent and honest governor, the last thing I want is another buffoon occupying the governor's mansion.

If Kerry and Kennedy could be a senator or a president canidate, he sure can be a democrat candidate for Governor.
