Wow. What a great question. But it's a damn hard one to answer.

I'm a freak about movie endings. A great ending can redeem a bad film, while a bad ending can ruin a great movie.

This comes up way too often, since Hollywood loves to put a happy ending on a movie. The problem is when the happy ending is against the grain of the rest of the movie.

For example, I loved "War of the worlds," but hated the ending. After everything that went on in the movie, what are the chances that all of the main character's loved ones would end up safe and happy in a nice townhouse? It was a definite cop-out.

On the other hand, I don't really care for most of "The Usual Suspects," but the ending is good enough for me to consider it a good film. "Thelma and Louise" is one of my least favorite films, but I have to admit, the ending was great.

The best type of movie is one that combines a great film with a great ending. "Se7en" does this amazingly well. Who wasn't surprised at the chain of events at the end?

So, having said that, let me give you some of my favorite and least favorite endings.

Favorites:
Seven, Fallen, The Devil's Advocate, The Blair Witch Project and Memento, Pale Rider

Least Favorite:
The Jackal, Planet of the Apes, Boogeyman

Worst: Psycho - made worse yet because I think it is one of the best plots Hollywood ever made. The ending was so stupid I laughed out loud.

Best: Fatal Attraction - it was the first time I remember anyone ending a movie like that and then it became the norm.

I won't tell the details since it would ruin most movies to know the endings.

Both of my movies are fantastic in my opinion.

Worst ending: Lady in the Water

It doesn't deliver the ending that was foreshadowed in the movie. There's supposed to be a sign that the people are on the right path. They never get that sign.

Best ending:
While You Were Sleeping
The Parent Trap (the remake with Lindsay Lohan)

Both of these have the happy ending.

The case contained Marsellus Wallace's soul.

The worst ending I've seen recently was the ending for The Village. What an asinine ending. Kind of think of it, I'm the asinine one for watching it. What a crock that was.

Runner-up: The War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise. Another dumb ending.

Best ending? The Natural, when Robert Redford hits a game winning moon shot that hits the light stands and they start exploding. The best shot is when he is rounding first base and you get a shot of his back and the lights start exploding. Cinematic genius. By the way, he strikes out in the book, and that's why books suck!

I think that "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" has a stupid ending because it was so cheezy. 2 girls ended up being super girls and then they ended up best friends. But when you see it you'll see.

I am not really sure what movie has the best ending. But if I had to pick one it would be "Antoine Fisher". That movie ended great and happy! He got his family that he had been searching for the whole movie.

worst ending was van Helsing, for those of you who have not seen it, the basically stole a scene from the Lion King. The best ending and this was tough for me to pick was the end of Godfather part one. you will have to watch it to understand why i picked Godfather as the best ending. The conversation between Michael and Kay.
