He abandoned you. you don't need him to get a divorce.

Actually, you don't need an exact address. You can have him served by public notice i.e. an ad in the local newspaper will suffice. Then go through and set a court date, etc. Since he will not reply to any of these, you win by default. Then if there is any alimony/child support/financial debts/etc., the second his name pops up in a legal computer system/database like when a cop runs his driver's license ... BAMM ... arrested. Then you find him for sure. Check with a lawyer how this service is done in your state. You need to make sure that jurisdiction can be established. Only a lawyer can tell you that.

private detective from the internet could locate him but your state probably has a procedure for you to divorce him after "service by publication."

you would have to submit an affidavit of diligent seach. It means more than just looking in the phone book, or asking this question. You would have to use a private detective on the internet. They would be able to find him for about 20.

go see a lawyer,have him put in the news paper that your looking for him in the last knowen place that you knew where he was, they put it in for 30 days, if no response the judge will grant you a divorce no problem, thats what i did when i could find the dumb ***** i was with, i was granted a divorce right away.
