Is it entertainng? Who's your favorite driver? What can you tell me about it? I really want to go see Tallageda Nights, but I know nothing about NASCAR, so I want some insight to what y'all think about it! And please don't give me the link to the NASCAR website...it's been very helpful but confusing. Thanx!

Luv it!!! Yes it's entertaining! My favorite driver is Jimmie Johnson (the current points leader), I also love Kasey Kahne (who has the most wins this season and he is FINE)! The other three most popular favorites to other people are Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr.! I want to see Talladega Nights, too! I don't think you even have to know a lot about Nascar to enjoy the movie, it may make it even better, but it looks hilarious.

About Nascar, well, the point of course is to finish the race in the lead...but there is a lot more to it than that (this is where a lot of "haters" of Nascar get lost, because they don't understand)! It is a lot about timing, when to make pit stops, when to step it up a notch! Teamwork is also a very important part in a race, the crew chief, the spotter, the driver and the pit crew all need to be on the same page and communicate well! There are also drivers who race for the same team, even though they are racing individually they will often help each other out! Respect also plays a role, if they show respect they get respect, if a car is running way slower than the person behind them, they generally give them the room to go by them and it will earn them plenty of respect from that driver! I am sure if you want any more detailed info the links "smokes_girl" and "Dale Earnhardt Jr. Fan #8" gave you will help!

Glad to see a possible fan in the making!

i love nascar so much that my husband and i were married in the flats of the grandstands (between the 4th turn and finish line)it was the highest point possible a fan can go, actually where security is posted, at michigan international speedway on june 13th, 2003. you don't have to know nascar well to see the flick as it is a spoof/comedy, and knowing nascar takes alot of time unless you are fortunate enough to watch some races with a knowledgeable friend and ask alot of questions during the race. the more you learn about the cars, the tracks, the teams, the drivers, and owners, the more you will be entertained. this is a good time of the year because most of the nextel races will be on tnt and f/x and they do a kickbutt job telecasting it!! my favorite driver is mark martin, because he is a good ol' boy. he is a fair, respectful, honest, determined, focused, intense driver. he rarely makes a mistake and always takes responsibility when he does. mark is a sober alcoholic and christian. mark came up with no money and little help, most would have packed it up and went home several times but mark kept plugging away and one day jack roush found mark martin and history took a new and wonderful path. mark hasn't won the daytona 500 and hasn't won a nextel cup, but is the most winningest driver in busch, has won the most iroc championships held several titles in a.s.a. and other series' and has won 3 of the 6 truck races he has been in this year. i can't remember the actual #, but he's won close to 40 nextel cup races as well. i sure hope you give nascar a try. it is a very entertaining and intelligent sport!!

I LOOOOOVE Nascar!! It feeds my very spirit, LOL!!!
Tony Stewart is my favorite driver.
What can I tell you about it?? Oh dear, there is not enough room on this website for all of that. What exactly would you want to know. I know you said you don't want the website, but Nascar.com has some basic info on there.. Nascar is kind of confusing to a lot, and there really isnt' anyway around that...so as I said not knowing exactly what you want to know makes it hard to answer this question. It takes timet o learn it all, and either a lot of research or just time, or if you are lucky enough to have someone who you can ask all sorts of questions of. If you ar really that interested than I do think there is even a Nascar for dummies book out there.
I mean basically, you have 43 cars who run around a track and race to see who makes it to the start/finish line first on the last lap. There is a lot of work that goes into preparing those cars and a lot of work that the teams (crew cheifs, over the wall pit guys and garage guys) do to keep that car running good.

Also, just do a search engine on it, and you'll be amazed as to what you can find out.

It is entertaining. More so if there are some people in a small group that can talk about it and create some good conflict. Most things in this world are boring if you do it alone. If you want to watch a race watch Bristol. It is a small track a lot of accidents and some very good hard racing. But the way i got hook on Nascar, i went to a race and experienced the entire weekend. the entire weekend was fun and relaxing. For those who comment that going around a track very fast for countless times is boring, Well Baseball is a very boring sport to me. But to each there own. #12 Ryan Newman

Actually I think the "help me tom cruise" is referring to the Scientology thing that he (tom) made a big stink over,

I don't really dig nascar myself, maybe if I were in the car it would be different, I really like autocross and rally cross and the off road races. Much more entertaining. Even drifting is OK. it is like the best parts of Nascar (the near crashes and saves) with out all the boring stuff.

I LOVE NASCAR! Its my favorite. Bobby Labonte is my favorite driver because he is so humble. It is confusing all the rules and point system. But it is a great sport when I started watching it I did not know anything about it but now I think I know more than my husband.

My mom was crazy about it. I never got all that into it...but I really don't think that you'd have to know anything about Nascar just to go see the movie...except that in the preview when he says "help me Tom Cruise!!!" he's referring to a Nascar movie that Tom Cruise was in called Days of Thunder

I'm a Dale Earnhardt Jr. Fan #8!!!!!!!!
You should watch a race some time, that might help. Here's the schedule: http://www.nascar.com/races/cup/2006/data/schedule.html
On the schedule the times are eastern, just so you know in case you don't live in the east. Hope these sites help! :)
