my myspace account gives my the option to create my url, what will happen if i do?

A URL is a web address, like http://answers.yahoo.com/ <- That's a url.

Stands for Uniform Resource Locator, but that's not really important.

It's just a web page address, that is, if you have a home page...
URL = Universal Resource Locator, or something like that.

A URL is a uniform resource locator. I believe it's called that because when you type in yahoo.com for instance, that url locates where the files for yahoo.com are and allow you to access them.

a url is like your home address. it says where you live. a url tells you where a file lives on the internet

url= universal (uniform) resource locator; gives a specific location on the net to find a page that falls within the dns (domain name system). you need to know a little about this html business to get it right (unless they walk you thru it.

If you do that, you can create a shortcut for your myspace, so instead of your address being myspace.com/(friendidnumber), it will be myspace.com/whateveryouchoosetobehere
