Why are you worrying about which is harder? Do the one that makes sense for your future. If you will eventually use calculus, take precalculus. If you will not use calculus, precalculus won't make your life much better. However, if you're not going to head on to a math or science field, take statistics. Even if you don't use much math in the future, understanding statistics might help you make some sense of the way the world works (understanding the news, TV ratings, etc.).

Precalculus is more important, and a lot of what's covered is from Algebra 2, trig and Algebra 1. Go with Precalc. Prob and Stats is a whole new math branch altogether.

It depends on what you want to do with it. You should actually take both. Calculus you need for math and science and economics. You need probability and statistics in almost everything. Take courses that you think are hard, first. If you try to get out of the hard courses, you will be limiting yourself and your future.
I took all of the hard courses and really surprised myself when I started to get A's.

I hated statistics. I am good at algebra which allowed me to be good at calculus. Would you rather do lots of manual calculations and memorize algorithms (statistics) or more algebra-like work of solving equations with more letters and fewer numbers (pre-calculus)?

Probability and Statistics uses Calculus. So logically if you find calculus difficult, probability and statistics will be far more difficult. yeah?

I made straight A's in all of the higher math classes that I took, but statistics kicked my butt.

Depends on if statistics is interesting to you, I kind of liked it (I work with quality and productivity stats as part of my job, though)
As far as easiness, definitely pre-calc.

They're both pretty easy. Precalculus will get you farther though
