Kids can be exactly like mum, exactly like dad, or a mix between the two, something completely new. This is called Evolution.
The "mix's" create new genes for thier kids, the replicas, continue the same gene pool.
Your observation is just the way the brain works, a suprise at ugly parents having cute kids, being more memorable, than average parents with some ugly, some average, some cute, kids.
Ugly parents having ugly kids is written off by the brain, as expectation, and hence not so strongly remembered. Take these collective rememberances of a group of people, we get a myth.
Ps. Re question, as typed: good "lucking" kids, would simply be overly Lucky.....parents with bad luck?

I don't think their luck would be all that good if they have ugly parents, then again if the kids are good LOOKING than maybe they do have good luck. Anyways I think you meant good looking & the answer isn't that easy because you never know. I've seen some beatiful parents have a "not-so-cute" kid & I've seen some not-so-good-looking parents have adorable offspring. Then there are the many children that look JUST LIKE one of his/her parents, sometimes they look like a copy of both combined. So you never know until the child has been delivered & lived a little how attractive/unattractive s/he will end up being.

I've noticed this!!!
I think its true there was a women I saw she looked like a real tramp I mean she had a crooked nose and was quite unpretty (but then again no one can actually say someone is unpretty because they might be on the inside) anywhoo her boyfriend wasn't any different when they had their child it was the most beautiful baby around at the time I was like whoaaa is that her child.

I think its true ugly people or less attractive/average looking people do have cuter babies than pretty/beautiful people. I mean beautiful people have average looking babies, not stunning nor ugly just average.

Maybe it the way the genes in the ugly people are blended together? Or maybe its a throw back to do with their genes and other people in their family were were pretty? Like from grandparents then I thats how I think they have good genes.

Who knows but I do think its true,my mother was beautiful, my dad was average...everyone says I'm really pretty & beautiful...which I think is B.S...maybe its me being modest or them being liars but I dunno...

If pretty people have children with other pretty people theres not much of a chance of it being beautiful too, there are some cases though that they are but I don't think they are deep down if they do turn out that way, most end up being spoilt or stuck up ( just my personal opinion). If beautiful people have a child with someone average or less attractive sometimes they are beautiful too, it depends on the dominant genes. Boggles my mind but I think it's quite true, maybe it's just me being naive though.

Well, they can do. We have a couple in our street who are seriously weird-looking (but are nice people). Their son is not well-favoured Im afraid but their daughter is agreed by all who see her to be one of the sweetest-looking kids ever. And our average-to-not-fantastic neighbours have one of the prettiest daughters anyone could ever hope for. My kids are all gorgeous but they have their handsome Dad to thank for that :0)

I assume you mean, "good looking," and the correct answer, of course, is sometimes. That would also be the correct answer if you really meant to say "lucking," whatever that means.

mean good looking - but hey its ok it shouldn't matter should it. I think its unfortunate that people dwell on looks but I am at fault myself for the crime.

It depends on the previous generation and genes sometimes, kids inherit their looks from just about any of each parents, grandparents, uncles, aunties genes ...
