Possible, but I wouldn't. If you think that your laptop is SLOW now, just watch. You ain't seen slow yet.

If you got LOTS more RAM, let's say 1000MB and did a CLEAN install, instead of Upgrade, just then, it might be OK.

You see, Windows XP is such a slow old dog, that if you reinstall all of your programs, it will be wicked slow.

Should be. Check the first link below to be sure. If you do upgrade to XP, be sure you get and install the service packs too.

Windows XP is something of a memory hog. More RAM is advisable. 256 MB is minimal -- at least 512 MBs is recommended. Depending on what you do with the laptop, a larger capacity hard drive is also recommended.

Alternatively, you may want to wait awhile for MS Windows VISTA (beyond its initial release is advised).

Yes, but you'll be much happier in the long run if you back up your files, wipe the drive, and do a fresh install of XP rather than upgrading.

Win2k pro is upgradeable to winxp pro only, not winxp home. You need to double your ram to 512 and really should double your hard drive as well (yes, laptop drives can be changed). You did not tell us the mhz you are running so, even though it will work, you may be less than pleased with the result.

i think so.
but if u want out yourself,
just say u got plenty of time to go to nearby software store / while u go to a mall/hpermarket that sell windows software, just look at the box and see the requirement to install.
usually it mention whether u can upgrade /not from windows 2000/not.

Yes. But do a clean install instead- it'll be much faster and it's a good excuse to ditch all the stuff you don't need.
