As long as you have your permit for carrying it , and if your stopped by the police , and they want to search your car inform them you have a weapon in the glove compartment and it is licensed and legal and YOURS . No problem

Laws governing reciprocity on carry permits, and gun-in-vehicle issues vary WIDELY by state to state.

You are generally covered under the "peaceable journey" doctrine if you're just "passing thru" and do not stop for other than gas or food. Best bet is to place the unloaded gun (better still, take the slide off auto-loaders), and place it in an opaque container not accessible to the driver (trunk, lock-box behind seat) so it is of your "lunge-zone" if you get pulled over by law enforcement. If you have to reach into the glovebox for your vehicle registration and you have a weapon there, the officer will take it badly. Like his-gun-in-your-ear badly and you in cuffs 'til he gets things sorted out. Best avoided.

mosquitojammer is not 100% correct. It's legal to carry a gun in a national forest if you're legal to carry in that state. What's not legal is to carry in a national PARK. In a national park the gun should be unloaded and locked.

To answer the question though you really should do your own homework or else there might be some pretty serious consequences. Go to www.packing.org. They have a car/gun law summary for each state.

No permit required in Florida to carry loaded gun as long as it is in a holster behind seat or in glove box. Problem is each state will have differn't gun laws and if pulled over you could go to jail. I carry a loaded 22. Pistol in my truck.
I know the laws in Florida and I know that it is against law to carry a gun in National forest. I have been caught 3 times with it all I got was a warning. I would not take it out of state though.
In Florida you have the right to shoot someone if they threating you with bodily harm.
Florida and Texas have easy gun laws.

since you are going through alabama, you have to have a permit from your home state to carry a concealed weapon, which covers "on your person or in a vehicle." Alabama recognizes other States's permits. You must have a permit to carry a hand gun in a vehicle, concealed or not.

I believe you will also have to have it not loaded but I could be wrong on that one. To be safe, have your clip next to it and no bullet chambered.
