When I look at someone before I meet them I try not to get a first impression but thats always hard to do. But when I do get a first impression I am usually right although I have been wrong a few times before.

No the first impressions can be wayyy off!! what if the person is having a bad day? You never know what your coming upon when you see a person, what they have just been through.

No. People tend to look for information that confirms their initial impressions, and discard information that doesn't fit. This is well-known in the psychology community.

Also, you have to bear in mind that the other person can (to a greater or lesser extent) tell what your impression of them is, and may respond based on your response. In other words, the universe has a way of adjusting itself to match your expectations, whether they are good or bad.

DEPENDING UPON'S ONE MOOD AND POINT OF VIEW U CAN'T JUST GET AN IMPRESSION LIKE THAT U OUGHT TO KNOW THE 'PERSON' FIRST THEN U CAN GET A RIGHT IMPRESSION. ALWAYS A GUY OWING TO WOO U WILL TRY HIS BEST 4 U TO GET THE RIGHT IMPRESSION BUT ITS NOT LIKE THAT LATER ON.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!! If people always went by their first impressions and didn't take the time to get to know people, I would have NO friends!! Don't judge a book by it's cover!

I think its about 50/50..You have a built in sensor system that dosent think bad right off...First impressions are important to learning about that real person..The way people dress and carry themselves is also another way of seeing it. They could be neatly dressed and then find out they are total slobs...I mean hell look and Jeffery Domer and John Wayne Gassey......they semed ok on the outside right...Keep your guard but dont block them out...

It may not always be right, but darn close. All you have to do is talk to a person one time and you can get alot out of that one conversation about a person.

Sometimes it is. If a person talks too much you can tell if it's out of nervousness or if they're a motor mouth. If they tell things about other people, they have a problem keeping secrets. Sometimes when you watch them you can tell alot about them. It's called being perceptive.

not always. having studied 1000s of people, that was one mistake i've learned through time. never judge a person by the cover. read them over and over, there are hidden chapters that would take u by surprise.
