People say I pronounce "singer" wrong. Do I? They say it should rhyme with........?

"finger"..that I should say it like "seen-gur". I give it a softer "g". AM I pronouncing it wrong?

They're wrong. Singer should rhyme with winger.

Saying it like it rhymes with finger is probably just a regional thing, but its still not right.

If you go to dictionary.com, it actually lists both as valid pronunciations. Take a look at the link I'm including.

The emphasis should be put on the second syllable. You are right. Your homies are full of it.
