First, I really, really liked both shows. And I have watched every episode of both, and many more than once.
I thought the finale to Angel was outstanding and, as far as series finales went, I thought it was more powerful and gripping than BtVS.
I know that the end of Angel came a season too early, and Whedon had to come up quickly, in the last five shows or so, with how it would all end. So, the whole "Circle of the Black Thorn" was a little funky. But each of the remaining characters had their moment, and that final scene of turning to face the swarming horde in the alley - a show couldn't end better (certainly better than driving a school bus away from a hole in the ground that was once Sunnydale).
BTW, in a recent interview Amy Acker let the cat out of the bag as to what was going to have transpired in that final battle if Joss and Fox Studios came to agreement on a series of TV movies (apparently an issue of money). But, alas, no new movies from either version of the 'verse will be forthcoming - which is why Amy released the kitten.

As a sidenote, wasn't it cool how Whedon brought some Firefly regulars into both BtVS and Angel, after Firefly had gone under? I liked that.

Buffy's Chosen. Definitley.
I think BUFFY is the BEST show on Earth! So obviously i liked Chosen more than Not Fade Away.
Angels Ending left me with a lot of Questions unlike Buffy. So thats my answer.

Angel. When Illyria asked Wesley if he wanted her to pretend to be Winifred I teared up a little. By the time Buffy ended, it was too little too late and I was already sick to death of the show.
Yeah, I think Skip was bad the whole time. He was helping Jasmine come take over "our" world. There was also an episode where he was particularly nasty as well.
I miss Angel! Wahhhh! But a Spike spin off? As much as I like him, I can't help but wonder if he could carry a whole show.

Buffy had the best finale, but I believe at that point in time, Angel was the better of the two shows. That said, I miss them both terribly.
BTW, I think Spike should get his own spin-off series. Him and "Skip" the demon.

Buffy was a lot better, for a lot of reasons mainly because Angel didn't even have a final battle. All of the Demons from Hell were coming down the alley and they ran towards them, but that's where it ended.
Buffy and the Chosen Slayers fought off almost a thousand Turok Han Vampires...very exciting!!!

Buffy did have the better ending for the show. Buffy gave up her destiny so other Slayers could be born, and she told Spike she loved him. It was so sad when he died, evn for him, it was sad. Angel's last episode ended on a cliffhanger and you will never know how it all turned out. You can speculate but you will never know. Buffy had a more resolutionized, complete ending.

I'm gonna be different and say the Angel Finale was better. Don't get me wrong, I love Buffy, But I really didn't like the finale. I think It was cuz those darn potentials all got on my nerves. Anywho, the Angel finale was bittersweet. I mean I was so mad that you don't get to see the fight and see who really does win...by the way in my mind Gunn is so NOT dead! But on the other hand, that's exactly what made it such a great finale, Joss left it up to our imaginations, he also left it open for a movie, now that would awesome!

I agree, Chosen was better.. they knew the series was ending so they more time to plan the ending. I'm one of those tough girls that never cry but I cried!
I love Angel too but they didn't really have time to wrap up loose ends (Illyria, Shanshu Prophecy, etc.) so I did feel really like I was left hanging in the last episode. Plus, we don't know for sure what happened in the alley at the end.
I don't think they're going to make a Spike movie... BOO HOO!!! I wish they would but James is getting older and I think Joss is continuing the series in a comic book instead.
I loved Skip. I think he was evil though, although he didn't seem like it at times. We have a household item in our house named after Skip.. can't tell you what it is though, lol!

Buffy is better. If you liked Buffy then check out Firefly. It's a TV show done by the same guy and it's really good. It's off the air now but you can rent it, it's worth it.

Buffy, without a doubt.
besides that great scene when she tells Spike she loves him, I thought her facial expression in the last shot was fabulous.
