There isn't much you can do other than talk to him/her about the effect that their mood is having on you. If you don't feel comfortable speaking to this person, you may want to talk to your boss.

It's hard working with folks like that! Trust me, I know!

Tell your bosses that you and/or coworkers are often stressed. Ask if it would be possible to do things to relieve some of the pressure, like have someone to vent to (a counselor or manager who will take notes and try to help). Or maybe you can do group meditation or get permission to make the break room more relaxing.
As for the coworker, ask what is bothering him/her. See if you can help or go with the coworker to a manager or boss to get help. We have to be here for each other, y'know.

It sounds like your saying that because your co-worker is stressed it affects everyone at your job. Sometimes when you band together and try to lighten the mood a little, maybe say a few jokes if your environment allows it, say something silly or do something sillier it will get everybody to relax. Maybe someone will have to be brave enough to confront your co-worker about how his/her mood is affecting the rest of the co-workers. Sadly it only takes one to ruin the moment... Try talking to this co-worker to see if everything is okay in his life... maybe he/she is having stress outside the job that affects his perfomance at work. Going out after work with those of you who are affected by the stress is also a good idea just to unwind... What ever you decide to do..Good Luck!

Tell her that there is a great new job available that she would be perfect for - then show her the jobs training video and tell her to watch it to give her an edge on the competition!
