Cause the MVP award is pulling away from ability and more to popularity. I mean look at the running. A guy that is only used for his hitting ability was in the running. Otherwise a guy that a team cannot trust in his defensive abilities and only in his hitting is making a run for MVP. I would be in favor of seeing a new voting system. Take it away from the sports writers.

I'd say what happens is that he still manages to hit 40+ homers, and continues on his way to being a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

And the Yankees will likely make the playoffs, where they have just as good a shot as the Red Sox.

I think they boo him a lot and forget that he's staistically one of the best players of the last decade... I don't know what it is about New Yorkers, but you all have really short memories...

By the way, I hate A-Rod as much as the next guy, but he's not doing THAT bad this season...

They take back the award, take him behind the stadium, and beat him with tire irons.

What do you think happens? NY fans complain as if it's a much bigger deal than it is, then forget about it completely when he gets out of his slump.

He gets booed by the "loyal" Yankee fans who are fair weather fans to begin with. We Red Sox fans never boo our players because we respect them as professionals who try their best every day. We appreciate and love the Red Sox. Unlike Yankee fans, we remain loyal!!

Chow!!
