Why do people treat jews as if they were an ethnic group ?

judiasm is a religeon, why do people profile jews with steryotypes like big noses, any race can be jewish, and i dont understand how jews themselves act as if theyre a race, its not like you treat christians as a race . If we even look at histry werent the first jews of darkish brown skin, now most of the world's jews are white, how doesnt this make sense ?

Many people do not understand that there is a difference between a "cultural" Jew and a "religious" Jew. Cultural Jews are of Jewish nationality, and may have any religion, or none at all. Religious Jews are people of the Jewish faith, and may be from any race or nationality.

An ethnic group.... according to Wikipedia.com.... is a human population whose members identify with each other, usually on the basis of a presumed common genealogy or ancestry (Smith 1986). Ethnic groups are also usually united by common cultural, behavioural, linguistic, or religious practices. In this sense, an ethnic group is also a cultural community.


So... really anybody can be part of an ethnic group. It is not insulting to be classified as part of a group. All of us are, to some extent.

Jews are a race - they're called Hebrews or Israelites. They have specific genetic markers that can identify them even down to which of the 12 tribes they belong. They have a unique language (Hebrew) and culture. They have a shared history. The fact that they are probably fairer skinned than historically wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that they were dispersed through Europe for almost 2 millenia, would it? People can join the Jewish faith but that does not make them ethnically Hebrew.

Jews are not a real race let us say . why ? because Jews come from many races there are Jews who are Arab Jews " the real Jews" there are European Jews there are African Jews and so on

I know Jews who have thick curly hair and big noses and they tend to have alot of money too. I don't consider them close to being black I consider them white. If your skin is pale you white. Same with an albino black person. If you can pass for white you basically white.
