A warrant will not expire. You will be caught
Sometime police a couple times a year will let you volunteer to come in and you will be arrested,booked and then released as an incentive for coming in.
A warrant does not convict you. Still have chance to win in court. Depending on charge and length of time warrant was issued Judge may set bail high as you being a flight risk.
You could always call police from a payphone and talk to them.

That depends on the state and county you live in.

Several states, counties, and local cities do post open warrants online.
