He bought the apt. where I was working in late March. I set up the rental office for him-everything. He knew nothing about running an apartment complex. He kept me on long enough to learn about the buildings, tenants and other issues. Then he let me go and brought in
this woman who is of his same religion. He had the right to fire me.
But why do people think I should be diplomatic about what he did to me? HE went around asking "What type of person say that she hopes I fail"? A person who was he treated unfairly. My mother even was upset that I said that to him. He deserved it and more.

You sound like a smart girl that could easily get another job. I know it must have hurt, buy you vented your feelings, so try and let it go, its overwith. The best revenge is success, so continue to do something as well as you did with running the unappreciative man's apt. complex. Maybe one of these days you can just buy right from under him, that would be the ultimate in satisfaction!

No! You are completely justified in your response. Frankly, I'm surprised you didn't say worse.
It happened to me once. The worst part of it is the deceit. Had your (and my) boss said "Look, I would like you help me set this up, but I can't promise you a permanent position " well, then I (you) could be looking for something else in the meantime, know what was coming. But noooo, they have to be weasels about it and lie.
So, I know how you feel. I also know that you will find something else better and be wiser for the experience. Good luck! Good riddance to him! (I'm also in property management) And don't give your comment to him another thought. YOU should go around saying things about him like "What kind of person deceives his employee like this? An employee who's only faults were teaching him everything he needed to know and being a different religion?" (isn't that against the law?) a DISHONEST one!

Whoa! You have a right to be upset, but that never justifies back-talk. Be the bigger person. What you did lowered yourself to his level. It will be impossible to use him as a refernce, now, and two people hurting is worse than one.
