Here are some REALLY good, and very inexpensive ways to treat most acne at home. Try each method (unless you’re allergic to the ingredients) until you find one that works best for you. Good luck =) BTW, I know some of these may sound bizarre but try them…what have you got to lose other than the acne!!

1. Put toothpaste on your acne before going to bed. (Make sure it is paste not gel). It should reduce the swelling of acne noticeably.

2. Dab egg whites on your acne and leave on for 20 minutes or overnight. It’s supposed to pull the infection out of the blemish.

3. Wash acne infected areas twice a day with warm salt water. This reduces oils in the skin and helps to dry the acne up without further agitation.

4. Use ice on acne before going to bed. This works best on pimples that have not yet formed a head. It reduces swelling and helps to prevent scarring.

5. Wash and dab acne with cotton balls that have been soaked in vinegar. Let dry; do not wash off immediately.

6. Place strawberries leaves over your acne and the alkalinity will help to reduce the swelling.

Back acne is prevalent, and often harder to treat than facial acne. The back is made of tough skin with thousands of sebaceous glands that produce a lot of oil.

Acne on the back is often more severe, sometimes with many nodules and cysts. In this case, topical treatment may not be sufficient. For mild to moderate bacne, the Clear Skin Regimen works well, however I have discovered that glycolic acid combined with the regimen can improve chances.

The bacne regimen is identical to the regular regimen with the addition of an 8-10% glycolic acid (alpha hydroxy) lotion. I have found this product on store shelves here in the States, most notably at Rite-Aid, my favorite product being Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion.

1. Wash the area gently with a mild cleanser and let dry.

2. Apply the alpha hydroxy lotion and wait for it to dry.

3. Apply bp generously. (You can flip-flop step 2 and 3 if you'd like)

4. Apply moisturizer if needed.

One more thing to mention when talking about back acne is back packs. Heavy back packs rub on the upper shoulders/back and can cause irritation. As annoying as it sounds, you might want to try hand held bag for the first few weeks of this back acne regimen. Once you are clear, try using a back pack again. If you break out, you'll know to go back to a hand held bag.

WARNING! This is NOT an appropriate regimen for the face or neck. Your skin on the face and neck is likely to get very red on this regimen. Only the tough skin of the body can tolerate the combo. The regular regimen will clear up your face and neck. Do not try the back acne regimen on the face or neck.

The back is a very tough area and can often handle both medications. However, you may still want to try one area for a few days with both medications before treating the entire back. I have also noticed that the area to the rear of my arm pit can get irritated from alpha hydroxy, so I avoid that area.

TIP: Benzoyl peroxide bleaches fabric. Keep this in mind if using the Clear Skin Regimen on the back. You will need to wear white.

Go pick up Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Cream Cleanser and use it on your back as a body wash... give it a week or so and see how it works. It's inexpensive and a great way to get rid of it quickly.

Good luck!

I used to have the same problem. It was persistent for about 8 years. Then I came up with a simple solution. Stop washing your back with soap. Your back isn't a smelly part of your body, it doesn't need soap or body wash to clean it. The water that runs down your back when you are washing your hair is enough to clean it. Try it and in about a week or two, you should see a difference.

I tried that nuetragena expensive cr*p and it didn't work one bit.

Have your best friend come over, open up a bottle of bourbon, and then the two of you start drinking and popping. By the time the bottle is empty your back will be acne free.

if you have acne on your back chances are that your ph level is out of whack....get Phisoderm and use that for a bit and if it helps then find a product with a low ph level

** i just went to their site and found that they have a lot more products than they used to....get the plain old phisoderm at first....
