I can't take the hot, dry Las Vegas summers anymore. Any insight would be helpful.

And for those that are unaware Las Vegas is in Nevada not California

I lived in Las Vegas in the 1990's so I can relate to what you're saying. I returned to Seattle about nine years ago.

If you are into golf and sun then San Diego is the place for you. But be prepared for high cost of living with real estate and apartment rates. CA has a state income tax that you won't like coming from NV.

If you are experienced in the gaming industry Seattle is a good bet because of the Indian casinos and even some casinos south and north of downtown Seattle. WA does not have a state income tax, just like NV.
Yes it rains a lot but that's what makes things green and fresh smelling. There are many outdoor activities and many tech jobs with Boeing and Microsoft the major employers.

I'm biased for recommending Seattle over San Diego so you best visit a couple of times in each location to make an informed decision. Always good to seek employment opportunities prior to moving anyways.

If you had to pick from only these two, go for San Diego. Seattle would be WAY too big a shock for a desert dweller. It rains ALL the time. not romantic "singing in the rain" stuff. like depressing 30% of the population suffers from some level of Seasonal Affective Disorder. San Diego is generally mild- so both will get you away from the heat.
Also, you may find you relate to people in San Diego more than the people in Seattle (this is my opinion based on MY observations and generalizations of people in Vegas, SD and Seattle. I'm not saying anyone is 'better', I am saying since you are from Vegas, I see more similarities between LV residents and SD residents than I do with either and Seattle residents)

Seattle. San Diego is so expensive to live in. Seatle is a real up and coming place these days, lots of industies are moving there, lots of new jobs. And it rains a ton, so no more dry heat.

I love Vegas and the desert though!

I have been to all three cities. My best friend moved to Washington from Las Vegas and he loves it here. If you don't like the heat you need to move to Seattle.

i like both, and San Diego is very tempting,
but i would go to Seattle because
i love rainy days,
it isn't that cold in the winter,
they have GREAT salmon,
i like the library at the University of Washington,
and it i a high tech area.

It depends on your job and how much $$$ you can dish out... San Diego is a fun place... I was fortunate to be stationed there for 3 years and I loved it... However, if you are on a budget, Seatlle would be your best bet...

Move to San Diego. We already have enough Californians in Washington, thank you very much.
