Because people are interested in the lives of the rich and famous. It's nice to see that behind all of that money and fame, they're just normal people like us. They have the same problems as we do.

I have a theory that the human mind needs to believe first. Only then does it look for what to believe. Tabloids provide raw material for all those minds who already believe and are looking for what to believe.

There always has been, and always will be, people with nothing better to do with their time than to read stuff about celebs (even if the articles aren't true). It's a sad fact--but you can always find those who like to stir the ****.
