World's fastest motorcycle: John Noonan's Suzuki Hayabusa went 246.818mph in 2004 in the 1650cc APS-BF class.

World's fastest motorcycle streamliner: Sam Wheeler's 332.410 mph, but that's not a conventional motorcycle.

p.s. the highest actual speed the tomahawk ever attained that I know of was 30 mph. 400mph was hypothetical.

Well, it's kind of a trick question. Fastest ever, modified or production, streetable or racer?

Fastest also means highest top speed not 1/4 mile times, that would be quickest.

The fastest MASS production bike would be the 1999 Suzuki Hayabusa BEFORE the motorcycle manufacturers agreed to 186 mph top speed limit, to appease the European lawmakers. It went 192-197 mph depending on who tested it.

The Y2K bike is available, but at $150,000 isn't going to be made in more than a handfull of numbers. Powered by a helicopter turbine engine, it's listed in the latest guiness book of records for going about 224 mph.

The tomahawk hasn't ever been demonstrated to go over highway speed. Wasn't sold to anyone as a runner, and with 4 wheels, is it a car?

Check southern california speed association website for the records for motorcycles, but as been listed above some are well above 300mph. Of course these were streamliners and not capable of driving on public roads.

fastest in a straight away line? a appropriate gas drag motorcycle. fastest highway motorcycle? The MTT Turbine jet-powered motorcycle. fastest fantasy? The Viper-engine powered Tomahawk (yet no man or woman will take it over 100mph- pansies!). fastest production motorcycle? in all probability the Hayabusa or ZX-14. fastest contained in the corners? A Moto GP motorcycle. fastest on the line? something that wouldn't have a squid for a pilot.

The Hyabusa and the ZX1400 are currently dueling it out for the top spot as "production bikes" while the BMW K1200 just sits quietly out of the limelight waiting for it's day. I am not really a BMW fan but you can't dispute the facts. I would buy one of those before I bought the Jap bikes just to stir the pot and prove a point.
