amino acids, fill the blank.
If the numbers were more I would say DNA, but there is way more protein in a cell than DNA and proteins are made of amino acids which have an average mass of ~110 daltons. Proteins have an average mass of 20-40 Kilo daltons. Therefore, I would say amino acids.

I would have to agree that you are talking about proteins here, and amino acids fills the blank.

But, more importantly, if you want to do well on your homework, you should read the book and pay attention in class. Yahoo is probably the slowest most inaccurate way to get answers to your homework.
