I mean wouldn't an oven be pretty much fire proof if your house burned down? I know you wouldnt be worried about an oven if that did happened but just think about it.

The compression of the gas would cause the oven to combust violently, I wouldn't keep your sock drawer stashed in there when the smoke alarm goes off. Only the inside of the oven is typically "fireproof", but only to a certain temperature. The outside would fail before the fire would have died down if the gas line didn't combust. In my case, it would be one of the rare occurences when my oven actually lights! (it's messed up, the gas is being injected but the pilot won't light it.)
Hope that I was able to help!

Well maybe except for 2 things:
1. Can you fit in the oven and get the door closed?
2. You would still need one thing to survive....AIR!

the gas line leading in to your oven could be a problem... along with the suffocation..
