I think that I might be going into labor. I am having contractions and I feel alot of pressure. The contractoins are about 30 minutes apart and last about 1 minute. My husband is on his way home from work. This is my first child. What should we do. I have had my plans ready for when we go to the hospital for about a month. I am very nervous. I called my mid-wife, but she is with a patient. I am going to get a call from her when she is done. Should I wait for her advise or should I go to the hospital now? No rude answers please.

Just hang in there until your husband gets home, or the midwife calls you back with instructions. Since the contractions are still 30 minutes apart, you are not going to give birth soon. So you'll be okay.

Goodluck!

Well, it might be braxtion hicks. Or the early signs of labor. I f you go to the hospital now, they will more than likely send you home. Just time the contractions and when they are about 5-10 minutes apart( depending how far you are from the hospital) go to the hospital. Your first time being in labor can take a while. Just relax and try not to be to over stressed. I t can prolong the process. Good luck and congrats!

If they are so far apart now you should be okay the hospital will most likely send you home if they are 30 minutes anyway. If you already called your mid-wife just calm down breathe deep and good luck. Also you will most doctors/midwives will tell you to wait for the hospital until you are at least 4 minutes apart

Since the contractions are 30 minutes apart .. and this is your first child... I would wait for the midwife to contact you ... it could be just false labor since you are only 35 weeks... but you never know so i would get in contact with the midwife again ... I just had my 3rd child 6 months ago ... and had a lot of false labor or braxton hicks ... they started at about 20 weeks and was on and off til i delivered at 38 weeks... so this could just be your body preparing your self for the big day ...which should come in a few weeks... also you should try to drink water and lay on your left side . if none of this works then you know your in labor .. true labor doesn't subside it only intensifies

Contrax are one minute long and coming every 30 minutes? How long has it been going on?

Wait for the midwife to call you back...don't go anywhere.

While you are waiting, drink a big glass of water and lay down on your left side. See if, while you're laying still, the contrax might go away. Maybe you are just dehydrated.....that can cause contractions so drinking the water might help stop it. If you are in labor, it's probably pretty early if the contractions are that far apart.

(PEOPLE.....stop trying to scare her. It's NOT urgent. Her contrax are 30 minutes apart and she's not leaking fluid or bleeding or anything! She needs to STAY PUT and get her caregiver's input.)

Well 30 minutes apart is still really far apart. I was advised to go to the hospital when they were 2-3 minutes apart. Wait till the dr calls you back and tells you to come in. I don't think she'll have you come in though till your contractions are much closer together. Good luck!

you can wait at home till your labor is about 7 mins apart. you are still too early, they may stop it at the hospital, so you might as well see if it will stop on its' own. That happened to me in my last pregnancy, i did end up going in, but all they did was give me a sleeping pill so i could go home and relax enough to stop it. Now sometimes that won't work, of course. Contractions can be brought on be dehydration so make sure you are drinking plenty of water. Be careful if you are prone to have premature contractions since your baby isn't quite ready yet to join us, don't want the lungs to be underdeveloped!! Good Luck!!!

Not to worry honey you have plenty of time. As a rule of thumb most doctors will tell you when you get 10 mins apart it is time to head to the hospital. I know it is hard right now, you are so excited, but try to put your feet up and rest until you hear from your midwife, you are going to need all your energy they don't call it labor for nothing. I am so happy for you, you are about to begin the adventure of your life. There is nothing on earth more fulfilling, exciting, and exhausting than being a mommy. Good Luck to you and congratulations on your upcoming precious delivery.

Well your contractions are still only 30 minutes apart so you still have a little bit of time but you need to start hading to the hospital if they get even closer together, like 20 minutes.
