Can't you get like some sort of extension for your insurance? I know that some insurance companies will extend your coverage but of course you will have to pay more. Considering that hospital and doctor bills are expensive, a little more on the pocket for insurance won't hurt you when the time comes for the baby to come out.

Or you can try discussing your options with your doctor.

Goodluck!

I went through the same thing as you. My insurance ended on Dec. 31 of last year and my son was due Jan. 29. My doc. would not induce and yours probably wont either unless there is a medical reason. With my epidural and all medical expenses it turned out to be around 7 thousand dollars i think. Try to see if you can get a continuation such as cobra. Its really expensive though. Mine was like 700 a month. Good Luck

No.
Not safe to induce unless necessary. If your insurance is ending you might check into whether or not your state has a program specifically for pregnancy. NY State has PCAP and it is a great program. Check through your social/family services. The hospital can't deny you care because you don't have insurance but I'd still check out if there are other options. With my 2 kids I went through NY Pcap and it was great. 1st one I found out I was pregnant shortly before my insurance at my new job started & then the insurance wouldn't cover it ("pre-existing" condition) so Pcap covered it. Then w/my second I had a job w/out insurance so Pcap to the rescue again. If you have a job but no insurance I think when it comes to preganancy you can claim temporary disability for medicaid coverage.

No. They typically won't induce you unless it is medically necessary and insurance, or lack thereof, is not a medical issue. However, even if your insurance does end you should have the option of purchasing COBRA from your employer. It is pricey, but at least you won't have to pay most of the hospital bills.

It really depends on how your doctor feels about it. With my first child, I thought I was further than what my doctor said, but I was wrong. About the insurance issue, you don't want to be induced to early because the baby might not be fully developed yet. Talk it over with your doctor and see what he/she thinks.

A good doctor would not induce for that reason. Is it possible you could take COBRA coverage for just one month...long enough to see to you through the delivery of your baby?

You can avoid worrying about that if you schedule a C-section for sometime before the last day of December...

No, never heard of that. If you don't have insurance then you don't have it. I would apply for state insurance or something or call them and let them know you are preg and your insurance runs out in dec. No dr will induce because you won't have insurance.

If they do, then they are crappy doctors. Babies come when ready! Also, look into the many risks of induction before you EVER agree to one!
