Old people say that whatever color their ears are is what their complexion will eventually be. I am bright skinned and my ex is extremely dark and my daughters were born bright skinned with darker ears than the rest of their bodies. I think it evened out when they were around 5 or 6 months old.

Are you pregnant, or has your child been born. If you are pregnant, I think it takes quite a while into the pregnancy before there is any pigmintation of skin and hair color. I don't remember exact dates, but I have a book that tells me day by day what is going on with my child, and I'm sure it is well into the second trimester or even later.
If your baby is already born, I can't really say, but I think after a few hours they are the color they will be, though that may get gradually darker or lighter as they grow.
I would love to know more because I'm White and my husband is African. He's very concerned that his baby be Black. If the baby won't be dark at birth, I need to start preparing him now or he will doubt me, and I want him to bond with the baby from the outset.

Look at your kids ears that is how I was told how I could tell how dark my kids will be. As far as how long it will take is not for anyone to decide but wait and let the child grow.
I am part Vietnamese and Black/Cherokee Indian and my husband is part Black and Cherokee Indian. He looks more black than I do and our kids are very light skin toned but you can tell they have some black in them. Not that it matters because we love our children regardless.
Love has no color so stop worrying about the skin color of your child.

Your baby's color should start surfacing around 3 months. But you have to take into consideration that both you and your husband have been exposed to a lifetime of tans, so your child may not get as dark as you, yet. But he/she should definitely start showing some color around 3 months.

Look at their ears and nail beds on their fingers and toes. That is what color they will probably be but they may not get heir color for a year. My twins just got to maintain a color and they just turned 1.

It is all done at the time of conception! but by the age of 3-6 months they should start getting black, like darker black than when they were born. And by the age of 1 they will be completely black

I would assume, while he/she is growing inside of you, at least how I would think it go. I don't think the baby would change colors after it's born, at lest not much.

I know, I know..
that pink color they come with looks way too white (roll eyes).
Leave them out in the sun. That'll crispen them up.
