the child is very unlikely yours. According to the dates you gave she would have been pregnant for a little over 10 months. Not to mention they usually only let you go 10 days to 2 weeks past the due date which would have put her around 42 weeks not 44. I would get a DNA test because something is dodgy about what she is telling you. You also have to factor in that some due dates are off. Early pregnancy ultrasounds are best at telling an estimated due date. As you get due date estimations later in the pregnancy they can be off a week or 2 either way (2 weeks sooner than they said or 2 weeks later than they said). Get a DNA test ASAP so that you will know because if the kid aint yours then you shouldnt be raising it, let her find the real baby daddy.

Your best bet if you haven't done so is to ask for a paternity test. Your local DSS
office can do it and it runs around $120.00. My friend's son just had one done where the son is being sued for child support. You, the child and the ex will have to be there on the same day. Easy to do, just a swab test on the inside of the mouth to collect DNA. Nothing else is as accurate. It definitely will put your mind at ease. The only set back is if you are not paying child support at this time, you more than likely will be after getting the test done.

My first son was due on the 19th April and was born on the 11th May. That makes him 22 days late.
They tried to induce me from the 28th April but nothing worked I had him by cesarean in the end.
My last period was on the 12th July and I fell pregnant on the 26th July and he was born the following year on the 11th May. I can't work out how many weeks that is because we count from the first day of the last period in England.
Not sure anywhere else in the world how they work it out.

If the baby is small inside the mother and still needs the time to grow they will leave it in for a natural birth rather than induce.
If you are unsure DNA tests will give a certain answer.

Are you sure about the date you last had sex? Is your ex sure about her dates? Meaning is she sure of the date of her last period? Does she have a regular menstrual cycle? If she's off by a week or more then sure the baby could be yours. But if she is very sure of when her period was, when she ovulated, etc., then I'd say it's doubtful that with proper prenatal care she was pregnant for that long. I don't know of any OB/Gyn who would let a woman stay pregnant for 45 weeks. It's not safe for baby or mother.

You don't always get induced it all depends on the situation but the best answer is a DNA test. That is the only way to be positive and if she refuses then you are not the only possibility.

They normally let you go over by 10 days, then start to induce. You also have to add two weeks prior to conception. If you're unsure get a DNA test done.

you do usually get induced within two weeks after your due date.....so Ive been told, and I'm due to give birth in 5 weeks.so your ex is saying that she didn't give birth until a month after her due date?!blimey!!never heard of that in my entire life!!it does sound a bit dodgy.that's my view anyway, but don't listen to me,I'm not an expert in pregnancy...even though i am pregnant!ask her for proof of when she conceived and gave birth.she should have a book with all her pregnancy notes in-and in there it says when you conceived and your expected due date.if not, then you will have to get a DNA test.
