Why do liberals whine about peace?

They look like little ignorant kids whenever they do. Don't they know human nature? If America disbanded our military the rest of the world would be willing to take dominance of the world in our place. If you have something you don't give it away, or else you will be taken advantage of. Don't the liberals get this? Or do they live in a little fantasy world?

They base all of their political views for votes! That is why the Republicans are viewed as racist and haters of the middle class and the poor. Without those votes they would never ever take office. I am a Republican and I am middle class and have never been a racist. They are the one's who fuel the fire in this country to spread hatred instead of trying for peace. How about that for a turn around. By making Republicans out to be racist bad guys who care about nothing more than money is malicious, vicious an unneccessary. Peace for them is just an illusion. You are absolutely correct about Bill Clinton and disbanding the military. That was one of his first goals as soon as he entered office. I hope none of the people answering this question vote because they clearly do not know fact from fiction.

Re Clinton "disbanding" the military...Remember that the Soviet Union disbanded in 1991, the military was geared to fight a land war in Europe v. the Soviet Union, so keeping the military in that configuration would have been a gigantic waste of money. I mean if the enemy you are geared to fight does not even exist any more, why be prepared to fight that enemy? There is zero doubt conservatives would have bi t ched like he ck if President Clinton HAD kept the military in that expensive and needless configuration.

Sometimes war IS necessary, sometimes war ISN'T necessary. Fighting isn't going to solve ALL of the problems in the world. Sometimes it's better to use ones brain than ones fists.

Nobody is advocating that we disband the military, it is still (obviously) a need and a (lessening) deterrent.

Humans evolved from cavemen and anarchy into civilization, why is it so hard to believe that eventually we can achieve a peaceful world? The alternative to achieving a peaceful world is that in time we will likely wipe ourselves out. While I am positive we will not achieve an equitable and peaceful world in my lifetime, it doesn't mean it will never happen. So take your head out of your *** and try and start thinking for yourself vs. just along party lines.

I think it's some kind of mental disease - deluding yourself that if you say "peace, peace, peace" -all will turn out to be o.k. But they lack the comprehension that some nation s in this world are not so friendly no matter what you do.
Add to that the peculiar phenomenon the many americans have some sort of self hatred towards their own nation and anything it represents.

You're brainwashed. (most) Liberals support the military just like cons do. Liberals though, don't just want to willy-nilly send troops in for no good reason.

Diplomacy and pursuit of peace should always be the first course of action. Its much less costly in human tolls, monetary costs and good-will in this global society.
