hmmm

4x = 2x + 1

2x = 1

x = 1/2 so for 4x to be less than 2x + 1, x must be < 1/2

2x + 1 = 3x +2

2x + 1 = 3x +2

x = -1

so x has to be > or = -1

so

-1 < or = x < 1/2

I think...

4x < 2x + 1 <= 3x + 2 is an inequality equation. As long as you keep things balanced, you can still manipulate it like a normal algebraic equation. Let's evaluate first this part:

4x < 2x + 1
2x < 1
x < 1/2

Now, let's evaluate the next part:

2x + 1 <= 3x + 2
1 <= x + 2
-1 <= x

Now, you can combine it into the statement -1 <= x < 1/2. You can also graph it on the number line if you know how.

Hope this helps!

4x < 2x+1 ≤ 3x+2
The first step is to subtract 1 from 4x and 3x+2
4x-1 < 2x ≤ 3x +1 Then divide out the 2 from 2x
4x-1 divided by 2 < x ≤ 3x + 1 divided by 2
You will only change the direction of the symbols <, >, ≤ , ≥ if you divide by a negative.

4x < 2x + 1 < (or equal to) 3x +2
4x < 2x + 1 or 2x + 1 < (or equal to) 3x +2
x< 1/4 or x > (or equal to) -1

therefore, -1< (or equal to) < 1/4
