I think that horoscopes are a waste of time because they never come true.

Horoscopes are a waste of time to make, ink to print, and money to buy.

Here's why: On the rare occasion when I do read my horoscope
(I'm a scropio, by the way), sometimes it includes something about my wife and/or children. I'm not married, and I don't have any kids.

I think there are powers from the stars that may cause certain actions, kind of like if the moon was closer or gone it would mess up the earth. But, I don't think putting those energies into words has anything to do with anything. I think the only people who believe in horoscopes are the ones who have read one and it just so happened to come true for them (better chances of winning the lottery). I also think people tend to let horoscopes influence their decisions which in turn makes their outcome look like the horoscope was true. Waste of time.

I saw a documentary once where a professor got each of his students' birthdate and time, and handed each of them what he said was an individual horoscope. Each person said their horoscope was very accurate and meaningful for them. Then he had the class members trade papers. The class burst into laughter. Each horoscope was exactly the same! It was full of generalities that applied to anybody.

You can't go by newspaper readings. Astrology goes much deeper than what papers say, which are purely for entertainment purposes. They are writing for $$$ and may not even be true astrologers. I don't follow general horoscopes. I know many of them don't apply to me. You have to go by your birthdate, including the time and birthplace if you want a true reading. Once you do this, write back and tell us how true yours is.

You are wise, kat e.

They are...well, unless one uses them just for entertainment, as a few people said (though I don't even get what's "fun" about them, personally). Even when they do come true it is pure coincidence or interpretation (so that one's day conforms to the printed words).

Karen J, I loved that story. It should tell believers something. Sadly, many will stay in denial.

I, myself, did a little demonstration online to show one aspect of how inaccurate that stuff is. I asked anyone to tell me my sign based on an honest list of character traits. In a couple weeks the responders guessed all but one of the 12 possible signs.

Glad to see many reasonable answers here. Maybe there's hope for the world, after all.

In my opinion, Sun sign horoscopes in the newspapers and online are a waste of time because they are not based on date, place and exact time of birth.

For an accurate Astrological reading of your natal chart, you can go here:

http://www.astro.com

Input your birth data (date, place and exact birth time) under "My Astro"

Select "Free Horoscopes".

Select "Astro Click Portrait".

For transit reports (predictions) select "Forecast" and "Personal Daily Horoscope"

This is accurate and free. Enjoy!

Yes.Planets can impact your life, but it's more complicated as a part time journalist's work from a horoscope dictionary, written by amateurs.Waste of time!

Whatever is printed on paper is not going to happen to every single person in the world with that sign. People who put any real faith into it need to get a clue.
