I have gestational diabetes and the Dr says I may need to be induced or have a c-section early...he didn't tell me what the earliest would be that they would do that though. I am almost 35 weeks and I'm assuming it would be at 37 weeks since that is full-term...right? I'm just getting a little nervous about it and don't see the Dr. til Tuesday for my weekly ultrasound...so any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

At 35 weeks your baby can be born and still be very healthy. The problem with gest diab. is that it causes to much weight gain in baby and mom. Also can cause alot of health issues and endanger the babies life, not to mention your own. your doc will continue to monitor you and when he decides that the risk of continuing the pregnancy outweighs the risk of a preterm labor he'll probally do a c-section. because of health risks and stress he'll probally tell you that a vag birth is to risky. decide what you want to do and make sure that the doctor is aware of your concerns and choice before he makes any decisions for you.

37 weeks would be the earliest, but more likely 38 weeks.

I think 36 weeks is considered full-term (before that is considered premature). I think your doctor may want to wait a week or two to be on the safe side.

OK, for me, I used to be brought on 2 occasions. But I did not have your drawback. I just about went into hard work the primary time, after which I stopped. So they needed to set off me seeing that I used to be approximately seventy one/two centimeters dilated whilst I stopped. The moment time, I used to be brought on considering my baby used to be manner too enormous. I used to be two weeks from my due date. I used to be believe to head till May Day, however I would slightly stroll. On most sensible of that, I could not get relaxed any which manner I attempted. So, whilst I went to my final appointment, my medical professional gave me a alternative. I instructed him seeing that I used to be this a long way alongside, I desired to be brought on. So I went in at 630am on April 25, and I used to be brought on 2 occasions considering the primary time did not take. I used to be in hard work all day. My daughter used to be born at two:38 am on April 26, 2003. She weighed in at nine lbs. thirteen ounces. The medical professional stated if I could have waited till my exact due date, she could had been 10 lbs. I instructed him I used to be thankful. For you, if you're having such a lot of issues, I could speak for your medical professional and notice what he recommends. I suppose having a c-phase could be bigger for you in case you have the pubic symphysis disorder. If you're involved approximately who could watch you 2 yr ancient, I could ask your husband, or a relative or buddy. I'm certain there could be any individual in the market capable to support you. Good good fortune.

They will do a c-section at 39 weeks.

8 mo. + 1 or 2 wks.

They would only do a c-section only if A or B section fails or is not suitable for you.
