The websites being wider than your screen is probably because you need to set your screen resolution higher. The higher your screen resolution, the more you can fit on the screen.
To fix the tiny lettering click "View" at the top of internet explorer scroll down "Text Size" and choose Medium. A shortcut would be to hold down the "ctrl" button on your keyboard and scroll the (if you have one) wheel on your mouse.

Because you use a high resolution This is good for photos but not always for reading
If you have problem try to change your resolution.
And after see the result Choose what is more convenient for you.
To change the resolution:
Click on your screen Choose >Properties>Settings and drag the slider form Less

Go into "My Computer" then into "Display" and then set your screen size to 800 x 600... you'll be amazed at how much better you can see the stuff on the screen.
