50's- slim fitting pants that were called ciggerette pants, hit above the ankle..wore with flats and button up collared shirts or sweater sets
60's- slim fitting pants, like in the 50s, but with boxy jackets, started wearing bellbottoms
70's- bellbottoms, high waisted pants (hit at belly or above) wore with blousy shirts

I grew up in the 70's and the big I mean big bell bottoms were the hot thing to wear in the 60's it was more about the mini skirt and burning of the bra the 50's where the classics refined Leave it to beaver dresses.Dungarees were for work or horse back riding in the 50's.

I can't speak for the 50's. But in the 60's and 70's tight hip hugger bell bottoms were all the rage.

in the fifties they put them on and sat in a tub of hot water so they would shrink tight to fit,
they did not like them fake faded but look new.
peg legs. lightweight denim.( 11 oz)
you could read the date on a dime in her back pocket
In the sixties they liked them faded and torn.
more people began to wear them and prices went up. Short short jean shorts with tears in rear were very hot. some had flared legs at bottom and slits in side sewed up with lace.

Eighties I did not even notice. the Reagan years,

50s.. girls wearing jeans considered rebellious and unflattering

60s. capris and then bell bottoms.

70s... faded jeans with embroidering

late 70s... designer jeans (vanderbilt, sassoon, jordache) became the thing for women. they were extremely tight and form-fitting, and dark in color.

50's NO jeans...they wore capris'
60's holey worn out shredding bell bottoms
70's same, faded, bleached
80's fitted and flared....
90's low rise came upon the jeans wear.
2000 lower rises, gems, capris jeans, anything goes jeans

Girls never wore jeans! They wore skirts. It wasn't until the '60s or '70s that girls wore jeans.
