Sing the "I'll be there for you.." chorus part outloud now....
Okay, there is a low part and a high part being sung in the original. Which one do YOU sing? If you sing the low part, then the word for is lower than the word there. If you sing the hight part, the word for is higher than the word there. Say low part or high part. WHY? Well because I've been having a debate for years with someone who claims that no one sings the high part and the song "goes" by the low part. I think people do both or high more....this is my unscientific survey!

Those who have answered in fact DO get what I'm asking...Do you sing, "I'll be there for you with the high harmony (the word FOR is sung higher (as a higher note) than the word THERE), OR do you sing the words FOR YOU lower than you singer the word THERE. In other words, if you say low part, you are singing the low melody. High part means you sing the high harmony.
