Going to SF this weekend. There is going to be 4 adults and 4 children. We are thinking about buying this GoSanFransico pass which gives you admission to like 45 attractions. Of course we can't do them all in one day so I am looking for some must do's in SF that are good for adults and children. I am aware of Alcatraz and we are going to do that in August so looking for other good suggestions. Thanks

The aquarium at Pier 39, like everyone says, and walk around Pier 39 to see the shops, ride the carousel, see the sea lions, and eat clam chowder in a bread bowl.

For shopaholics, Union Square has lots of upscale department stores and boutiques, as well as sidewalk vendors on weekends.

Chinatown is nice for a little shopping; drive out to the Golden Gate Bridge and take photos at sunset; in Golden Gate Park, go to the Japanese Tea Garden, the newly remodeled De Young Museum, see the buffalos, leaving from the east end of the park, you can get to Haight Ashbury, leaving from the west end of the park, you can see Ocean Beach and the Cliff House and the site of Sutro Baths; go north to the Marina for the Palace of Fine Arts, which houses the Exploratorium (great place for kids). For grownup gourmets, the Farmers Market at the Ferry Building is a treat. And for fine dining (translate: expensive), there's the Waterfront down the street from the Ferry Building (appeared in several Hollywood movies when they need a fancy restaurant on the water in SF) and for the ultimate in family-friendly, fun/fine-dining: Teatro Zinzanni on the Embarcadero. If you've ever been to a Cirque du Soleil show, it's like that only more comedy and energy, and they incorporate the serving of the 5-course dinner into the performance. It's a once-in-a-lifetime (translate: even MORE expensive) best-dinner/show-ever memory kind of thing. You'll love it!

Cross the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito for an upscale waterfront town with shopping and restaurants. My personal favorite thing to do there: rent kayaks from Sea Trek and paddle out to see the houseboats and come back the other way to see the downtown buildings and restaurant diners wave to you from the windows, then get lunch afterwards at this little taco shack down the street--yummy baja-style fish and shrimp tacos!

If you're even more outdoors-y, drive up to Mt. Tamalpais and hike the Cataract trail to see the waterfall. Gorgeous!

Have fun!

The cable cars are a must. Be aware that the cars DO NOT stop at the corners or at the end of the street but a few hundred feet away because they have to grip the cable to continue. I've seen many a perplexed "tourist" wondering why the car passed them by. My experience with some Muni transit workers have not been good, most are rude and NOT helpful so try to know where ou are going and when to get off.
The Sausalito ferry is also good. Try this on non-commute hours. Gives you a good bay tour and the beautiful SF skyline.
Chinatown is okay but very dirty and lots of people shopping and traffice. Get a recommendation of a restaurant first. Most of them serve good food but the restrooms are filthy.
These are a few of my suggestions but the Go pass is good.
Weather is cool so always carry a sweater or light jacket. Be aware of the foggy sections of the city too.
Have fun!

I say forget the passes. Go to Chinatown and North Beach...walk around. Have a drink at old speakeasy Tascos on Columbus at Broadway. The trolley tours are pretty good. The new deYoung museum is great, plus other Golden Gate Park places. Drive over to Sausalito and have brunch. Coit tower is great for views.

The Trolley Car Tour is a good idea, it takes you from Fisherman's Wharf through the city and stops at most points of interest (the GG bridge, museum of art, hoyt tower, china town, etc.,) and the driver explains what you are viewing and facts about the city.
Fisherman's wharf and the piers around it are a must see. The sea lions will amuze the children. It's an interesting city, enjoy!

check out the aquarium at the piers - it's very cool. you go underwater, and the aquarium is all around you.

Also check out golden gate park, and, of course, the golden gate bridge.

If you like amusement parks, there's Great America in Santa Clara (about 45 minutes to an hour outside of SF)

And the beaches at Santa Cruz are always good.

Don't waste money on the passes - go to the tea gardens, the aquarium, the science museum, the piers, little chine, ghiardelli (spelling??) square - you don't need to buy the pass all of San Francisco is a site to behold!

If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear flowers in your hair. Isn't that how that song goes?

Anyway, why not go check out the Giants and see the steroid infested Barry Bonds.

we are able to be cooking an excellent turkey this year. we are residing house interior the U. S. this iciness with our son so having an excellent dinner with him would be extreme-high quality. final holiday we've been remote places and that they don't have Thanksgiving in Hungary and it quite is not user-friendly to discover an entire turkey to boot. they don't look to love roasted turkey there, you may desire to purchase an entire goose or duck for much less then turkey. i grew to become into finding on the frozen ducks right here in between the nutrition shops and it grew to become into over $seventy six.!! In Hungary it would be much less then $20. for an entire goose. desire everybody has an excellent holiday

go to golden gate park and see one of the museums.
hang out at the beach with the kids.
if you manage, rent some bikes and bike accross the golden gate bride.
Forget the pass, you pay too much money for things you might not see.
