I know they cover Puerto Rico but I am not sure if it goes down into the US Virgin Islands like St. Thomas.

No it does not, if you call or go there (US Virgin Islands) you will be charged long distance (.20) and roaming (.69) a min plus carrier exchange charges. I work for Verizon Wireless and have seen many many bills that were outrageous do to this. You can add an International Value package to your service though to take the long distance charges down for aruba, St. Maarten, and Curacao...Aruba is 1.49 per minute without the package and .35 a minute with the package. The package is 3.99 a month and can be added or deleted at any time. But all are .69 for roaming if you are planning on using your phone in any of the countries...
