The celtics will be a playoff team next year with paul pierce as good as hes ever been and talented rookie signings such as Kevin Pittsnogle (West Virginia) and Daniel Horton (Michigan)
they will be a great team. in my opinion they will win at least 50 games because of one thing........ skill and they got a lot of it

Newsflash...the Celtics aren't getting AI, people. Billy King has said that it doesn't look like they'll be trading him, most presumably because they can't get enough in return. It doesn't look like the Celtics are going to be able to pull off another big deal before the season start, despite all efforts. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. The Celtics have a lot of yount talent to work with. Kendrick Perkins, Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Delonte West, Sebastian Telfair, Rajon Rondo and Tony Allen are all young guys with talent. That means a couple of things. One, either they develop and star. Two, they don't develop, but you know out of that big group that SOMEBODY has to develop into something. Or, three, the ones who develop you're able to trade for more.
The important thing for the Celtics to remember is that they shouldn't give up too much.
With the lineup they currently have and knowing that they probably won't get AI, I say this team will finish similar to the Celtics of the last few years...they'll end on the playoff cusp, and either make it or miss it by a narrow margin.

Second to last place...They have to stop making changes and work with what they got. If they constantly retool and don't built upon what they have, there is no point. Teams like the Spurs, Pistons, and Heat have taken the time to build...Celtics change all the time, so the players don't gell with each other and they never truly develop into a team.
I was a strong Celtic fan from the Mid 80's to mid 90's, once Rick Pitino got hold of that team, things went down hill. They must develop an identity and them build upon that.
So till they do that, the Celtics will be a laughing stock...:)

hmmmmmmmmmm interesting question. I see one of the worst teams in the eastern conference in terms of record along with the much improved raptors...because the east is getting much stronger and much more balanced especially with what the bulls have done and with how the pistons lost wallace...the bucks will have bogut for the second year now, and the knicks will suprise..... danny ainge needs to clear some playing time for certain players...because even though the celtics are young and inexperienced besides pierce they have too many players. How the hell is gerald green going to play with pierce and wally at the two positions he can play? Thats my main concern. I want to see green get 20 plus a night at the very least. So trade wally--- danny please. Also with perkins, jefferson, gomes, powe, pittsnoggle and ratliff all vying for playing time someone has to go, and even though we can deactivate pittsnoggle and give powe maybe 4 minutes a night, ratliff remains a problem with his contract so trading him is near impossible without taking on an equally expensive contract. also with allen, rondo, west, and telfair, and pierce AND GREEN vying for the 96 minutes at the PG and SG positions it will be tough to satisy all of them, so i guess rondo won't get to play much unfortunately and allen will not get to improve with only 10 minutes a night. we need to trade wally or tony allen or both to clear up space or else the players are going to get frustrated and out of rhythm. Just think about the teams that are better......every team barring maybe the raptors ( thats a maybe since they added fred jones, bargnani, this spanish league forward whos decent, tj ford, and joey graham will play more this year, plus they already have james and peterson). So my prediction is that the celtics will be the second worst team in the eastern conference ahead of only the raptors
oh and if they get Iverson they make the playoffs easy......with a player of his caliber he can change everything---thing is AI isn't going anywhere
