I heard about a funny new law in the Netherlands about water tax. People have to pay water tax, so that the government protects them from flooding. A few people who lived on a small hill didn't want to pay, the argued they were not in danger of being flooded. The court ruled that they were right and didn't have to pay. So now the law was changed and people also have to pay for the government to prevent water from your area to flood others :)
