It depends on the cut, color and pattern. If you are bigger on the bottom, the top of your suit should be lighter to balance it out. If you are bigger on top then the opposite is true, you should have a lighter bottom to balance out with the larger upper half. And yes, make sure it covers the tummy!

Yes, because they always have that fat roll that hangs out from the top of their bottoms yet it isn't covered by the bathing suit top.

you just have to get the right one.,...make usre it goes all the way around your back and get something that makes your legs look slimming like a skirt...

if u get it tight or a thick fabric ya but if its to short then that will do it too so buy longer torso tops (victoria's secert has them online!)

if you have a wide waist and it hits right at the waist, it will make you look wider....
