You should let her start shaving whenever she feels uncomfortable with her leg/underarm hair. I know my mom kept me from shaving my leg hair until I was 12 (I started puberty at 9) and I was made fun daily in Phys Ed class. It doesn't make the hair darker or thicker- like all the myths warn you about- and she may just want to connect with her friends when they talk about razor brands or what lotion makes their legs the smoothest :P. I don't think this is anything you need to worry about in terms of your little girl "growing up", but more likely something that will keep her from embarassment and resentment, which occur often enough in the coming teenage years.

i don't think of the adulthood ought to come into play except you're demanding about a razor. if it really is the case, she ought to apply the gels/shaving creams that eliminate hair with those plastic equipment. If she has hairy legs, she's probable going to verify on to remove it. My daughter develop into in sixth grade. They get very self wide wide awake quite this time of 12 months and are commencing to be conscious boys and hence are paying better interest to their visual attraction. final analysis: If she needs to shave, then she ought to shave.

Whenever she feels like it, or she will sneak and do it anyway. Hopefully we all know that shaving does NOT alter the hair (i.e., make it darker or coarser). Only genetic modication can do that and razors don't modify genes. The worst that will happen is the tips of hairs are more blunt as she grows it out again, if she does. Big whoopie i say.

Wait, you have to ALLOW your daughter to start shaving? Why is this? Is it the same as having sex or something?
