As a math teacher, I would reference this: "Why does anyone answer other people's homework questions?"

I don't mind at all helping a student with a homework problem, but in reading my answer you're going to be seeing my explanations for each step along the way to help teach what's going on. Hopefully a student can pick up a correct process along the way and be better able to solve the next problem on his or her own.

Ask a question or two and you'll get my help (if I see it)... ask every flippin' question on your assignment and you're trying to cheat, copy, and not learn a dang thing! "No soup for you!"

As an Aerosapce Engineer
I Know its more important to get the methodology right
Obtaining an answer is of no concern.
since at school level only
Homework...and....Exam .
Nothing more than this
But for Advanced Maths its approach that matters. not what u answer u get.
Some times we get un-expected answers the meaning of which is very difficult to hunt down for the given case.

well if they just want the answers they are fooling htemselves for one

and thats the easiest way to spot a cheat...right answer and no working

bear in mind kids...during the exam you wont be able to ask a question here

teachers are there to teach you ~ if you dont get it ask them!

Well I would say you can ask questions and all that just as long as you show that you have attempted to do it.
