I hear so many people saying they support his movement because he's thumbing his nose at Bush. Well just because he's anti-Bush Americans shouldn't just blindly praise everything he says or does. Chavez is in the middle of a power grab down in Venezuela and some of his actions are appalling, such as:
- attempting to rewrite the constitution so that he can stay in office for life.
- squashing free speech and freedom of the press
- Creating a civilian defense force to "combat American aggression" which we all know is a way to keep himself in office.
- Opening a Kalashnikov factory that will produce 1 million rifles a year and will only help to destabilize nbeighboring Colombia.
- Allowing safe haven for FARC and other narco-terrorists.
- Seizing private land and giving it to poor farmers as a way to buy their loyalty.

..... it's funny how any Venezuelan you talk to has only harsh words for Senor Chavez. Americans need to put their politics aside and denounce this dictator.

BTW, Osama bin Laden is thumbing his nose at Bush as well but does that make him a "cool dude"?

Chavez, Ahmadenijad and Kim Jong Il aren't necessarily anti-Bush, they're anti-American. They're simply jumping on the anti-Bush bandwagon because it's a good way to disguise their true intentions. Remember that Chavez butted heads with Clinton as well, so anyone that believes this is all about Bush is deluding themselves. It'll be interesting to see how long Chavez tries to remain in power beyond his second term.

‘Some Polisci’ let me answer your claims:
1.CNN
2.CNN
3.You really think a D-Day type storming of Venezuela is imminent? If so, you’re as crazy as Chavez.
4.Colombia doesn’t need any more destabilization. At least Colombian president Uribe has the balls to do the right thing in the face of terrorists and cocaine warlords.
5.CNN
6.Agrarian land reform is one thing, but stealing peoples land is just that … STEALING

Also, Chavez wanting to send heating oil to the U.S. was fueled by money and one-upmanship. The U.S. is the largest importer of Venezuelan oil, so there’s money to be made. Secondly, what if there was a guy you didn’t like and made you look like a weak punk in front of all your friends. Then that same guy loses his job. In front of all of your friends you might offer him a $50 bill as a way to drop him down to another level and humiliate him.

Making claims without supporting them makes you look stupid. Let's see...Hugo Chavez was elected in a fair and free election. Can George W Bush say the same thing? Now onto your accusations:

1. Provide some evidence please

2. Provide some evidence please

3. Nothing wrong with defending yourself against American aggression. Chavez already survived 2 coup attmepts by the US and I'm sure he doesn't want to end up like so many other opponents of US imperialism.

4. Colombia doesn't need any help being destabilized. It's been that way for nearly 50 years.

5. Provide some evidence please

6. I fully support agrarian land reform and more Central American and South American nations should do likewise.

Chavez is so anti-american he offered to send low cost heating oil to the Northeast last winter.

Just typing CNN isn't going to work as a source. I want links to primary sources of your information.

I don't know why people would do that.

I don't like Bush but Chavez is a wacko. My loyalty would reside with the US regardless of who the prez is when it come to some crack-pot dicator trying to muscle us.

Why Do You Capitilize Every Word In Your Sentences?

BTW, last time I checked, America had a few skeletons in the closet as well. Ever heard of Iran-Contra?

I don't think there are that many dumb Americans, they just use the media to get there views across since no one else will listen to them. That's just my opinion.
