You know how people are saying how much they hate rap and all that ****! or how rap is corrupting our children's souls and all that.listen to this. i am a11 year old girl who listens to rap and is proud of it. i am in my school's GT program, i am in the band, and i have gotten straight A's all my life. And yet i have no disere to degrade women, have sex, take drugs, or to commit violence. Rap is just an expression of the artist. rap doesn't corrupt children's minds or souls. it is just music. music that people have the right to enjoy. IT IS JUST MUSIC PEOPLE SO DEAL WITH IT. we are not forcing ya'll to listen to it. Agree or Disagree? i'm not going to hold it against you.

Plus they talk about REAL LIVE problems in the world. not everything is perfect people. these are real problems. money, drugs, gangs, and violence are real problems, and we should be glad that they are bringing these problems out to light.

Oh and here's the thing, you don't like it, You TURN IT OFF. simple as that. but i agree. Some rappers do degrade women and see them as sex items. But some country singers say that too. and yes some rappers today are not as good as some of the old rappers.

Face it people, the world is not all fun and games. I listen to rap because it REALLY tells you what is going on in the world. Gangs, violence, drugs, they are not joking. they have seen these things happen. and Degrading women, well our forefathers degraded women too. our forefathers thought women were only good for having babies and taking care of them.

I agree... I'm not the biggest fan of rap, but I have gone through periods of time where it was what I listened to most of the time... I guess its just that the music / lyrics / content doesn't do it for me anymore... I love the production & how lyricists form their words around the beats & vice versa... Its not an ignorant art... there are many great qualities... some of my friends are hip-hop dj's in the area I live in... they agree that they stick to old-school hip-hop, vs. the newer gangsta stuff, because it promotes somewhat of an attitude to "be hard" and they cannot allow a bunch of people at the bars they play at, to have a hothead or attitude that does derive from some rap artists music....
Hip hop was the 1st music I was ever into... now I listen to most everything & dj as well.

Rap in most cases is without redeeming social qualities. It does not promote love, joy, peace or understanding among humans. In many cases the lyrics are foul, degraded and repetitive and at least a corruption of good manners.
You say you haven't done drugs, had sex, done violence, degraded women, but this is just a short list of things that rap promotes through the lyrics. While you may not have done any of these things you are an exception in our monkey see - monkey do society.
Rap of course is not the only musical venue where people shout their sins, crimes and lawlessness from the roof top.
I do not listen to rap, or a lot of other music which degrades human existence. I do object to having trash shoved down my ears in public by immature children who think they are hot stuff adults.
I am sorry, it is not "just music" but another corrupting influence among many. I have no intention of "dealing with it" or the big mouth spirit that is on you. Something I am sure you picked up from your music.

Rap is not music. Rap is talking to a beat and while I agree that rap doesnt corrupt children's minds, I dont see why anyone would want to listen to today's "popular" rap. Rappers like Sage Francis and old school rappers like Public Enemy and the Beastie Boys, that is real rap. All popular music today is complete s**t. When I say popular music I mean what you turn on a radio and hear

Rap may be art (and beautiful art at times) but it is rarely ever music in the sense of the word.
I personally find most of the genre disgusting and repetitive, but there is some stuff out there that's pretty good. Why do you listen to rap? To rebel? Do you actually enjoy listening to what 50Cent does in da' Club?
I listen to Eminem, along with a spattering of other artists including Christian rappers KJ-52 and John Rueben. I don't hate rap or Hip/Hop, but at the same time I enjoy very little of what the genre has to offer.

I don't think it's rap in general that people have a problem with, it's a few songs here and there. Then you have some of their lifestyles that are not on the up and up. I listen to rap and there are a few performers that I don't like listening to because of the language, but there other genres that I have this same problem with. It just takes a few things to make people look at things in a negative way.

I like Ludacris cause he's funny and seems to have a sense of humor. The Ying-Yang twins and Lil' Jon have songs that everyone likes cause it gets you all hyped up and dancing. Some rap is really dumb but some is great. I work at a redneck/biker bar and we have a satalite jukebox so I will play Lil' Jon or something when it's busy just to see their reactions. Most of em stop for a second but then the girls all dance and the guys bob their heads. A good beat is a good beat.

Well, it depends on the artist. People like Ludacris, Lil' Jon, the Ying Yang Twins, and the like are horrible. They degrade women and have absolutely ridiculous spending habits. People like Kanye West, Will Smith, and the like are a lot better than the others. They have good messages and don't engage in the taboo activities of the others.

Music is in the ear of the beholder. I studied music all through school. I graduated and hit the circuit. I drummed five hours and after the split I made $30.00 dollars one night, I didn't think it was worth it. Now, all you need is a mike and a beat. I personaly do not think rap is music but more of expression of something.

I completely dislike almost all rap music - - but completely agree with your opinion. Rap, like any form of music, is the artist's expression and people are free to either listen to it or not listen to it

incorrect and stitched mutually from borrowed reviews. baby Cudi and Rick Ross ought to no longer be in a proper 100 record, Ras Kass and Canibus ought to. very few rap albums submit '04 ought to make any proper 100 record, hip-hop and rap develop into organic gold in the 80s and 90s. lately a classic or striking album comes alongside very not often. @MJA - thoroughly agree.
