I've seen old videos and English girls behaved in a classy way where as these days, they nearly all act like chavs!

I think that's a question for the ages, although not specifically aimed at English women; in an effort to promote equality, they have succeeded in picking up all the tacky examples of behavior from men.
We can talk about how men have lost their morality too, now focused solely on accumulation of wealth and eternal youth promised by consecutive sex partners, but societies have always depended upon the women to keep their collective heads above water. Alas, it is something women choose unworthy as a goal any longer.
You mention the old movies, and while I am sure you would agree that these are not perfect representations of reality by any stretch, we both know that it is at least representative of good and bad behavior. You always knew when women were being bad and especially where the line was drawn in the sand. Modern movie women can hardly keep your interest through a conversation any more, without unbuttoning their blouse.
Men are no different; if you watch something like The Philadelphia Story, you realize just how difficult it was to start a fistfight between two men. Instead there was some semblance of polite conversation or dismissal. I really miss the concept of manners.
Ultimately one wonders if the modern age hasn't produced a greater quantity of human beings who are fit for nothing less than a Freudian exposition of rage and sex.
I think it happened when someone wasn't looking in the late 60's, the same time at which it was democratically decided that we should not pay any attention to our past. Unfortunately, we remember what Santayana said about those who forget their history.

When English boys lost theirs! Sorry, but why should the girls carry the responsibility? This is not a "girl" thing - it's a social problem. You can't have boys behaving as they wish, without girls wanting a bit of action too. Most people prefer to have sex with another person and it takes two to tango.

Women's aspiration was to get equality with men. However, some have forgotten that one can have equality and still behave like a lady. One thing doesn't eliminates the other one.
Something that is getting quite lost. They think a way to get more guys is to be more "kool", not so old-fashioned. But there are some things that will never be out... and definitely lady-like girls are IN!

I think they call it emancipation. But I do know what you mean. Feminism has a lot to answer for in this respect. In an effort to be seen as equal - they behave the same way that the boys do. Somewhere along the line, they forgot that they were girls not boys.

I agree with Sherrie.

The fragile male ego can't handle the fact that women can be better 'players' than blokes.

They can be 'classy' if they want to but are enjoying some guilt free living for a change.

yeah i know what you mean.. the laddette culture seems to have taken over from good morals and acting like a chav is now fashonable and i find it very sad!I've had personal experience of this as my 19 year old niece acts more like a yob than a young woman -even the way she dresses..

society gone mad I think!!

Morals by who's standard. Morality is a subjective thing differing in the eyes of the beholder.

I blame the "carry on films" of the 60s and 70s,for the decline in our women's morals
Especially Sid James with his come to bed laugh.
