Used condom with my hubby for 6 years, and my periods were regular like clockwork, only mild pain each month. Since having unprotected sex period has been either delayed or with much pain. If not pregnant, what kind of harm will sperm do to female body? Is delayed and painful period after unprotected sex associated with semen? Thank you guys!!

Semen does not cause painful periods. However, there is a possibility of transmission of STD's. Even if your husband does not have the usual serious STD's such as syphilis, AIDS, gonorrhea, herpes etc etc, you still have a high risk of contracting HPV (human papilloma virus) infection, which in the long term, may lead to precancerous and cancerous changes in the cervix.

No sperm can't harm your body it absorbed by your body it is protein. The only problem your body can have with sperm is your cervix can treat it as hostile and be irritated and kill the sperm but no harm to your body can come but you would need a special test to see if that is the case because it would keep you from getting pregnant it is called a post coital test it is gross but simple and your painful periods should be addressed by your Dr.

Sperm has no harmful affect on the body. You need to get an STD check - your husband maybe a carrier of STDs, some of which can cause pain in the abdomen - not necessarily during your menstrual cycles only.

No sperm does not harm a female body...geesh sperm is to get a female pregnant.

You need to talk to a doctor about your period being all out of sync.

Sperm don't harm the female body. Semen could harm you if it's carrying an STD, though.

you might be more subject to the pain if you're using the pill.

otherwise, there should be no problem with sperm. but could you have a Yeast infection?
(which is not really an infection but an imbalance of the things that live in your coochie. (yes, bacteria live in there, good bacteria that has to be in the right "balance") )
The sperm could cause an imbalance or HE might be giving you a bacteria that shouldn't belong in there.

BEST BET? go see a doctor !

who knows some women are actually allergic to sperm, it's slim but they are out there. just tell your dr. what's going on and hopefully he'll know what to look for.
