Use a light colored paint on the walls like a yellow or green, maybe a border with washday pattern of somesort on it. If there's a window, keep the curtains light and airy, like a swissdot or similar cloth. You don't say how small, so here goes; if there's room- a folding table is nice, a fold - down ironing board, and some shelves for holding the detergent, bleach etc is a necessary item. If enough wall space a shelf with baskets (labeled with the names of each person living there) is nice so as to fold clothes, put them in the basket and at the end of the laundry session, the baskets can be taken to the rooms and each person can then put their own clothing away and return the basket to the laundry room. A big help for busy moms! If not alot of room on walls, then maybe just an old washboard, a small piece of clothesline with clothespins, and other pictures or plaques on the walls.

Had no idea that a laundry room required decorating. Put a washer and dryer in there and be done with it. Why add excessive clutter?

Do something bright - like yellow - add a white picket fence painted along the botton, and maybe an adirondack chair - kinda reflecting back to hanging your laundry outside

Perk it up withyour favorite colors, add some festive hanging baskets or small shelves for your laundry supplies. Even though it's small... you can have fun with it! Keeping it tidy and neat also helps if the space is small (avoid clutter). Have fun & good luck!

Paint it a bright color--something cheery. Check out wallpaper boarders for some cute ideas. Cupboard and shelves help with supplies. Add your favorite collection (bunnies, balloons, etc) to spice it up.
