Postscript (from post scriptum, a Latin expression meaning "after writing" and abbreviated P.S.) is a sentence, paragraph, or occasionally many paragraphs added, often hastily and incidentally, after the signature of a letter or (sometimes) the main body of an essay or book. In a book or essay, a more carefully-composed addition (e.g., for a second edition) is called an afterword.

Post Script
In the "olden days" it was to be an addtition or afterthought to a letter. It's just stood the test of time & ppl still use it. Kind of like R.S.V.P. on invitations!

It also stands for the book of Psalms in the Bible, but I digress, in the example you gave, it does stand for post script.
