Place it near powdered sulfur in air with a bit of humidity. Most silver tarnish is the result of a reaction with sulfur oxides.

This website describes tarnish on silver as silver sulfide. Of course it tells how to remove it and how it damages it.

If I was wanting to intentionally tarnish silver, I would try putting the sliver piece in a covered pan and quickly lite and extinguish some stick matches in close proximity to the silver, but not touching. Then put a few drops of water in the pan and cover it. Put the whole thing in a warm oven and wait.

Human sweat contains some sulfur compounds and some of the foods we eat contain sulfur, such as egg yokes.

So silverware tends to get tarnished from use.

But if you wash silverware with water with sulfur compounds in it (typically H2S gas) they will also get tarnished. This is common if you use well water in Florida.

The "tarnish" is typically Ag2S, silver sulfide.

Expose it to oxygen for a long time. You may be able to accellerate the process by using an oxygen rich solution; such as hydrogen peroxide.

Make fingermarks all over it and leave it. Thats what it seems like you are always polishing off when you polish silver anyway.
