Every living thing requires oxygen to live, therefore, fish need respiratory systems as well. I think!

obviously every living thing needs respiratory system. fish have gills for breathing. Fish breathe by drinking. A pressurized gulp of water flows from the mouth into a gill chamber on each side of the head. Gills themselves, located in gill clefts within the gill chambers, consist of fleshy, sheetlike filaments transected by extensions called lamellae. As water flows across the gills, the oxygen within them diffuses into blood circulating through vessels in the filaments and lamellae. Simultaneously, carbon dioxide in the fish's bloodstream diffuses into the water and is carried out of the body. A fish can close the opercula, or flaps of tissue covering the gill openings, to prevent water from escaping.

Fish do have a respiratory system. Although they do not have lungs, their gills allow them to trap the oxygen in the water in order to absorb it into their bloodstream. Different fish have slightly different mechanisms. For example, a fish, by swimming quickly continuously passes a stream of water over its gills, getting some fresh oxygen from the H20.

Yes, fish breathe. The breathe water through their gills and the gills extract oxygen. Without this respiration system, fish can indeed drown.

Fish have gills. They extract oxygen that's been diffused into the water and use that to respire in their cells (just like we do).

Also, it's not restricted to land mammals for gaseous oxygen, because marine mammals (whales, dolphins, manatees etc.) also breathe normal air just like we do. Hence blowholes, and hence the sea cows sticking close to the surface and getting ran over by propellers so often.
